Ankara Fedora
The Ankara Fedora. Braided from strips of Ankara cloth, sculpted and sewn together to make a durable and striking hat.
I've always loved making hats. Its been a while. Hats are not for everyone. Just for the brave, the exuberant, the chosen. If your reading this, I'm probably talking about you!
I did some production of dresses out of Ankara cloth ( African Wax Cloth) for a client ( Ennye Ethnic Collection - check them out !) and was left with a big bag of scrap. The fabrics are so beautiful and vibrant. I kept them , knowing they would tell me what their next life would be.
And they did.
This one fits a head that is from 21" to 23.5". It will stretch a bit.
